NAARRI is an organization of professionals involved in the applications of radioisotopes and radiations in industry in India. The Personnel engaged in the scientific, technical, safety and regulatory aspects of such applications form the core of the organization . NAARRI also serves as an interface between the users of the technology and different units of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. Scientists and Engineers of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Board of Radiation & Isotope Technology (BRIT) and Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) provide excellent opportunity to promote and provide the use of radioisotopes and radiation in several fields of applications in Industry.
The last five decades have witnessed a phenomenal growth in the applications of radioisotopes and radiation in industry all over the world. In India too, over 5000 industrial organizations are using radioisotope techniques for non-destructive testing, nucleonic gauging, tracer techniques, study of process parameters, trouble shooting and for development of radiation based industrial processes etc. The use of radioisotopes and radiation has led to more efficient, streamlined production processes, resulting in sufficient savings in cost, time and energy.
